Paul charging around at Rainbows End
During the four weeks of the programme, from March 1st to 31st,
Paul added to this site with stories and photos of life in Gujarat,
and his experiences visiting families and World Vision projects
there.
He also answered students' questions, and communicated with
registered schools through weekly faxes and audioconferences.

I'm Paul. My family and I live near Hamilton, though I have
spent most of my life in Auckland.
I have always been involved in sport and throughout the year coach basketball, touch rugby, rugby, hockey, swimming and athletic school teams. I play hockey for Waikato University and for Waikato Masters. I especially enjoy teaching Maths and Social Studies.
Over the years I have encouraged students and teachers to become involved with the 40 Hour or 20 Hour Famine. We have had many sleep-overs at school in classes or tents. One year we made a shanty town out of corrugated iron, bits of wood and cardboard. Students always look forward to the special famine day where we do lots of the fun activities you'll find in the resource kits.
I started teaching in the junior classes at Onehunga Primary and then at Flat Bush which is in Otara. I then taught in two neigbouring Intermediates in Mangere, Bader and Arahanga. I left Arahanga just before it closed to come to Waipa School in Ngaruawahia. Next it was out to a country school in Te Akau, famous for its polo teams and its breeding of race-horses. About three years ago I came across to Taupiri Primary where I am now.
My wife Rosemary and I have four children.
Deborah (17) is a Year 13 student at Bethlehem College. She enjoys writing e-mails, surfing the net, music, plays hockey and likes to exercise in the gym.
Cameron (14) is in Year 10 at Hamilton Boys High School. Anything to do with computers and he is happy. He plays hockey for a school team.
Sean (10) is in Year 7 at Taupiri Primary School. Also likes computers, plays soccer for the local club. Both boys have motor bikes for riding on a local farm.
Annalise (7) is in Year 4 at Taupiri Primary School. She's in the computer club as well! Is into reading, netball and playing with friends.
